Movember to begin phased wind-down of PCOR-ANZ data collection funding
Movember has been proud to support the development and ongoing operations of the PCOR-ANZ over the past decade, investing more than $25 million AUD since 2016 and involving almost 200,000 men.
Together, this has helped build one of the largest prostate cancer datasets in the world and improve understanding of care and outcomes across Australia and New Zealand. As we look to the future, Movember is evolving how it invests in prostate cancer and will begin a planned and phased transition away from funding large-scale data collection through PCOR-ANZ.
This transition will be managed over the coming months with Movember committing to provide funding to support data infrastructure, governance and access to the existing PCOR-ANZ dataset for the next two years. We are continuing to engage with partners across the health system to explore potential future pathways for PCOR-ANZ.
Movember remains deeply committed to improving outcomes for men with prostate cancer and their families, with ongoing investment in areas men tell us matter most - including quality of life, sexual health, mental health and health equity. This includes evolving how we deliver impact in these areas, beyond large-scale registry data collection.
